OK so this is android stuff.
Hi all I need help, I have a Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300).
The maximum official android release for it is 4.3 jellybean but it is very outdated so I had to install a custom rom to get 4.4.4 KitKat.
Everything works great except for one detail, when the phone is turned off and I connect the charger the phone will boot instead of showing the battery animation.
I've searched all over google for a fix but found none that matches me because I don't have the folders they have.

So plz I need:
1. A way to restore the original battery animation
2. A way to replace the corrupted one if it is
3. plz idk what else to do I like kitkat though

Unlocking the bootloader or flashing a custom recovery makes you unable to charge your device while off. There may be a patch or even a custom recovery for this specific feature out there, and even though you're very unlikely to find one, try to search (I had a device which had a patch like this on xda foruns).

The battery animation file could be potentially missed in system files or corrupted (where did you get that ROM?). Since your phone needs to be rooted in order to check the system files, I suggest that you set up a Nandroid backup to not lose any important data. Making wrong changes would lead to a damaged/un-bootable phone!

Afterwards check for the battery animation graphic file, something like this or the like (as I recall, Samsung Galaxy S3 devices have that file in this path right?):
/system/bin/lpmkey

If that file isn't there then we've found the culprit.

I have fixed it! Thanks for whoever tried to help especially @user GeoB99: because you asked for the origin of this ROM which made me search for people with the same problem on that topic and after a little bit of digging I got here and I flashed using ODIN this file
1
boeffla-kernel-7.9-Samsung-i9300.tar.md5
and it fixed my problem!

ik this is offtopic but I have a question and its not worth a new thread, how is the camera on samsung s phones? i had s2 s3 and s4 and the camera is alright but only when there is really good lighting/day light available, it's absolutely frustrating to take a good pic inside the house/outside at night, the slightest movement will cause the picture to be blurry, it's completely unpractical, you can't just pull out ur phone and take a quick pic without it being blurry,

and you can't move ur phone immediately after u take the picture or else it'd be blurry u have to wait until it finishes 'processing' (1 second)
has this problem been fixed on galaxy s6/7?

I hate the processing thing on samsung, on nexus 5x if you open the picture immediately after you take it u can see it being processed, so once you hear the shutter sound you can move your phone and it won't affect the picture.
so no more pictures like this? or similar to this but less blurry
