Stranded doesn't try to be realistic either. there are raptors and teleports! do you really think that I tried to make it as realistic as possible? hilarious!
about the "random" thing and "everything new": maybe you didn't note that Stranded has randomly generated maps as well. it actually has an scripted adventure mode (which Minecraft doesn't have) AND randomly generated maps.
I really like the great freedom in Minecraft and the possibility to build like everything with those cubes. I also love how it is 100% about gameplay and doesn't really care too much about the graphics.

Its unfair to compare a freeware game which is almost 3 years old with an updating commercial game which has a completely different goal.
Yes the Story Mod in Stranded is good, but what I sometimes miss are the Hands in Stranded! You can't see what tool you use at the moment except you look in the right-down corner!
I also think that the Crafting System in Minecraft is better, because (At German: Was heist übersichtlich?) you have more fantasy! For example an axt is in Stranded a Stone+wood. In Minecraft it's
0= Nothing
1= Wood/Stone/Iron/Gold/Diamant
2= stock

PS: Stranded is close at the realistic!
Minecraft is just awesome because it has Zombies, Creepers, ... And in Minecraft you can build almost everthing...

Stranded is better than the Classic-Minecraft (Free minecraft) but not better than the real Minecraft.

Btw, having 10fps in Minecraft made me laugh, you don't need a f**king awesome PC to play Minecraft, it's just a normal PC, and really, Stranded II isn't fun to me and it lags more than Minecraft.
The Minecraft graphics aren't 8-bit and it isn't hard to notice that, the sounds aswell, both are 32-bit and in a very good quality, Notch made Minecraft with this graphics because he want, it's not because he couldn't make better.
Minecraft as @DC say'd, has an awesome freedom and gameplay, building things with blocks and really don't caring about the graphic (which i really like, because i love PixelArt) makes Minecraft the best game for me.

Exept this I had too!
I look in Youtube "New Game" than I found Minesweeper (Windows Game) than I saw a Minecraft Let's play!
After that my whole life has changed!
Now, if I play other Games, I get headache because nothing is like Minecraft

I made one a long time ago before Minecraft was popular, (April) and even though I love the game, I agree completely. This forum is about the games of Unreal Software, and the Off-Topic subforum should have one thread per topic/game, not one thread per topic per game. Unless DC wants to create a subforum dedicated to Minecraft, I think we should keep it as organized as possible.

Stranded is survival game, minecraft is sandbox. Survival in minecraft is only one of the additives.
I like much more Minecraft of course, because there is more things to do than Stranded. I hope Stranded III beat Minecraft ;), it's not hard as survival game.
So, combine the possibilities of Minecraft and the stuff of Stranded II (too many to list), and you got an AWESOME game right there.
Don't think that will be done for a long while.

That's not a lot of compare since in stranded I die within 3 minutes into the game, where as in MC I die within 5 minutes into the game.
MC is more creative, but anyhow, Stranded is favourite game!
